Despite winning the 2022-23 French Ligue 1 title, PSG is expected to confirm the sacking of their current manager, Galtier. Julian Nagelsmann, the former Bayern Munich coach, has been widely speculated as the frontrunner for the position.

However, reports from France suggest that Nagelsmann was not PSG’s first choice. According to Le Parisien, Zidane was approached in recent weeks about the possibility of taking on the coaching job at PSG. The report further states that the Frenchman turned down PSG’s offer, leading the club to consider other candidates, including Nagelsmann.

Alongside Nagelsmann, former Spain manager Luis Enrique and Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso are also reportedly featured on PSG’s shortlist of potential managers.

It is worth noting that Zidane had previously rejected an offer to coach Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr in the past.

As PSG continues its search for a new head coach, the club’s decision will be closely watched by football fans around the world, eager to see who will take charge of one of the most prestigious clubs in European football.
